How to reference IFRS textbooks effectively

Posted 5th February 2018 by Roulon du Toit & filed under Financial accounting,

When you start your CTA year, the IFRS textbooks can be daunting. Pages and pages of text and technical requirements that you need to wrap your head around. And that does not even start answering the question: If you are going to be a walking library this year, how do you carry all of those books into the exam hall?

The IFRS textbooks will be some of your most valuable books during your CTA year. The big question is: how do we use these textbooks to work for us?

In the video below Bianca Nel CA (SA), from CA Campus, shares tips on how to effectively reference your IFRS textbooks.

When studying a specific standard from your IFRS textbooks, work through the Content page to ensure that you know all the principles of the standard. In an exam or test, if you are unsure about the requirements of a question, refer to Content page for possible guidance. You have to make sure that you IFRS textbooks are properly referenced and highlighted to save time during the exam.
